The survey was repeated in 2018–2019 in Kazakhstan, on the assumption that Central Asia would be represented by the students. Through case studies of the Netherlands and Scotland, we unpack how landownership influences the possible strategies for community energy. Our paper develops a theoretical framework to help one understand what is lost when changes due to climate change are irreversible. In particular, we focus on the existential aspect of such loss as opposed to, for instance, the economic aspect.
